So by blowing out the lines you save $4. If something goes wrong do you think $4 will fix it?? Probably not, so I use antifreeze. It only takes about ten minutes. Jmo
Couldn't agree any more
10 minutes to pump the system full of pink. How long to rinse it out again in the spring?
What about those of us who de-winterize on the road 5 or 6 times a winter?
To me saying blowing lines is bad or risky is like someone saying XYZ car company builds a crappy product and are crooks for not standing behind their warranty because their 4 cyl. SUV fell apart when they were only pulling a 30' TT.
You wouldn't tow a big RV with a Honda Civic, why would you try to blow out lines with something designed for filling bicycle tires?
As was stated, to each their own, but please don't slam a perfectly good method merely because a few people completely botched the job and paid for it.
We do just that. We take ours back out several times through out the winter. Each time we run fresh water through the system before leaving and 5 minutes later its ready for use. Come home pump three gallons antifreeze back through it and its winterized. Clean out and rewinterize take only a few minutes and I know there will be no damage next time.
