^ I live up north and I've never seen a single RV dealer that uses the blow out method.
Imagine the bean-counter (BC) at the dealer and the service manager (SM) chatting over coffee one morning;
SM: So we've got 100+ units to winterize in the next few weeks.
BC: I see Pink AF is $6 a gallon, why can't we just blow them out with air? It's free right?
SM: well, yes, the air IS free, but we'd need a $5k air compressor to run 5 lines for 5 RV tech's, $1k for 5 x 500' of 1" air lines, at takes 10 minutes to do it properly compared to just slopping pink in the tank and flipping a switch. Oh, did I mention that only 1 of those 5 RV techs knows his backside from the bayonet fitting because you're only paying them $10 an hour?
BC: Just order the pink stuff in bulk so we get the savings huh?
SM: Done.
