Anyone lose a set of keys

I dumped at the I95N rest area in Maryland between DC and Baltimore yesterday afternoon. Lying on the ground next to the dump station was a set of keys.

If you lost a set, please PM me and I'll get them back to you.

  • On a related note, I was driving on the interstate here in FL the other day and noticed that someone accidentally left their offshore fishing boat on the side of the road. Just to be safe, I threw my spare tire on that empty wheel hub, knocked it off the jack stand, hitched up, left a note under an old milk crate, and drove 150 miles back to my house. If you or anyone you know is missing a boat, PM me and if you have the right info, I’ll tell you where your boat is so you can come get it.

I always feel so bad for the OP in threads like this, when they post something well-intentioned and then everyone chimes in to tell them they're doing it wrong.

What if the person is not an RV.NET member? You should turn them over to local authorities.

If the rest area has an attendant it would have been best to give it to them. Around here the local authorities would just take them, throw them in a drawer somewhere and forget about them. If you do lose your keys and show up at the PD looking for them it all depends on if the guy working behind the desk is the same one who took possession of the keys. If not you are out of luck. A couple of times a year they dump the drawer in the garbage.

  • So you took the keys? What if the person realized it a few miles down the road and returned to get them? Taking them seems really dumb to me.
