We retired early 50's; sold the house and everything in it and full-timed for 16 wonderful years. We traveled the secondary roads and saw everything on our bucket list.
Therein lies the rub - while we enjoy camping a few days, even a few weeks at a time, no way are either of us interested in hitting the road for months or even years at a time. Neither of us waited 'til retirement, we did our traveling while we were working, and while there are still places to explore we got most of that out of our systems years ago ... escapism is great for awhile but eventually reality sets in and the shine rubs off pretty quickly. Although it may be hard for some to believe we actually
enjoy home,
enjoy being here amongst our relatives, friends, and familiar places ... and as I intimated in my earlier post some of us actually don't see work as a burden but rather something we
enjoy. Pity what appears to be the majority who don't. :(
