I started working on a farm when I was 9 years old. Worked almost 6 months a year until I was 15. Then I got a part time job in a restaurant cleaning up. When I turned 16 started working in a factory in shipping and receiving. I had a plan to retire when I was 50. I missed it by a little. Was finally able to do it when I turned 57. the last several years I worked that was all I could think about was retiring.
I managed people and fixed machinery for most of my career. When employees get angry and upset they break things. Some of the employees attitude and personalities were very difficult to deal with.
I loved my job, and I made a lot of friends there. I still see them from time to time.
BUT!
Been retired now for 17 months. Still feel great about the decision. If I had to do it all over again I would probably go earlier.
