Anyone regret full-timing?

We are nearing departure time and I am still nervous about doing it. We are going to rent out our home while we are gone. A relative has already agreed to look after the place. We have no pets or kids. We will have to find some work to fund the journey. That said we have about 5k cash and 2 credit cards with no debt.

If I ever retire I would not fulltime but would like a RV port home, not to big of a home and where the RV is also part of the home, that's the closest I would come to full timing, been RVing for many years now could not see myself living in one fulltime..

We're on our 6th year and have no plans to stop, though that day will come one way or another. Our thing is volunteering. Without a purpose fulltiming would lose its appeal in short order. We only travel about 3 months broke by stays at various state or federal areas that need volunteers. Besides staying in some very beautiful and unique areas we really get to soak in the history and culture and spend enough time to appreciate it.

Nope! We have only been FT for a little over a year, but have no plans to come off the road anytime soon. In fact, we have tentative plans forecast out 4 years or so :-)

I am a cat adjuster on the road from March to Nov I tread Oct as we are approaching our off season November. I do go back to the stick build but now that daughter is grown and has no interest in seeing the old man I think for me its a no brainer I lost everything in my divorce don t miss it except the kid whats the point of owning property? I think this off season I will sell the place and just full time living next year I kept the place for the holidays for the kiddo but as stated she does not even come home for that

Although, if I come into money and can afford to move to Wyoming and buy a ranch I believe I will do that in a heart beat Very jealous of that lifestyle I am having coffee currently on my patio over looking a parking lot!

We spend 6 months of the year living in the RV and really enjoy our time doing so. That said, we really enjoy getting back to the S&B where I have a decent wood workshop and DW has a dedicated sewing room. For us, the long distance travel twice a year outweighs the alternative. Hope this helps.

After nine years of full timing I asked my wife is she was still happy with the lifestyle.

She gave me "the look." You married guys know what I mean, it is the look that says:"I can't believe you even asked me that," and said to me: "If I ever become unhappy, I'll let you know."

I guess I need not ask THAT question anymore. :)

We thought it was something we really wanted to do. Up until about five years ago when we started spending 4 months in AZ and found we were ready to head home. Can't wait to got back there but 4 months is about it. We did it in truck camper up to a 40' RV and it made no difference. Most folks I see that REALLY enjoy full timing are those that have a lot more money then FlatBroke. That's OK we enjoy our home time too.

No regrets from us. We are now in our 13th year of fulltiming. Now one thing to understand is we RVed since 1974. We knew what we getting into and getting out of. Have never looked back. Of course we never kept up with the Jones'. If you are a "stuff person" I highly recommend you pass on the idea. Also, if you are big into family, I will tell you that you will be on the "family visiting tour". Because most folks never leave the town or county they live in. Since you are "Uncle Joe" the rest of the family will say" You know Uncle Joe, he has one of them there things that you see going up and down that people travel in and they will come to see us, which is good, because we aren't traveling anywhere! IMHO
