I tow a trailer bumper pull with my 2500. The trailer weighs in at 10,500 to 11,500 depending on the load. I am able to pull it just fine but I set no land speed records going up hill. Getting started is not an issue and I can get up to 60 pretty quick. I will say the truck is on the edge of power pulling the unit. Also, something I saw years ago coming out of the drag strip. If your trailer breaks fail can you stop? I have been pondering that as my trailer will stop me so fast now but if it failed I am sure I would need a mile to stop. I know your looking at a 5ther which would be better on the tow than a bumper pull. Just thought I would tell you what I know. Going up the mountain passes in Oregon I am ~45 taking it easy as I have an auto. High winds and passing semis have never been a problem. with SRW. I would listen to the CW rep as I think he is on track for comfortable towing. If your temper can handle 45 getting passed then you may be ok. You may also be paying more in repair bills in the future on your TV than if you had a nice 1 ton unit.
