I assume you have read the owner's manual under recreational towing or towing behind a motorhome and see what there requirements are?

You assume correctly.
..Then you know that as part of the procedure for towing the Focus, that you have to disconnect the battery when hitching up, and hook the battery back up when unhitching? And, deal with all the 'fun' of having to constantly reset several things in the car after hooking the battery back up.
..This was one of the main things that turned me away from the Focus, I did not want to disconnect the battery and keep resetting everything whenever we tow it. Soooo, we went with the Ford Fusion hybrid (2013) instead. I don't have to disconnect the battery with it. Its a very simple process, just hitch it up, put it in neutral and go, basically.
Anyway, it sounds like you haven't bought the new Focus yet, and wanted to make sure you make your purchase, knowing ALL the facts, whatever you go with. :) - Mike_IExplorerHere is a recent link on this forum for 2013 focus.
May be of some help

Personally I would be surprised if there were many people towing a 2014, considering how little time the model has been out.
Is there any difference between it and a 2013? (I know the older US models are much different, current US Focus's are based on the Euro-Ford design)
I only need that one or two in the world that are towing a 2014. There has to be someone. The same brackets fit 2012, 2013 and 2014 so I suspect there has only been cosmetic changes over this time slot. The sequence to hook up and tow is the same with all 3 years also. I'm just looking for someone that took the jump into a 2014 - n7bsnExplorerPersonally I would be surprised if there were many people towing a 2014, considering how little time the model has been out.
