Anyone use "Get Upside"?

Have heard some ads for this app on the radio. It does show up in the Google Play Store, and I assume Apples App store.
They claim rebates on fuel purchases of up to .25 per gallon. But I'm always skeptical on apps especially those that want bank information, was wondering if anyone is using this and if it was worth bothering with.
TIA

  • We recently shopped at a Grocery Store who’s Name would lead you to believe that they would be lower priced. We went there because we had some Air Miles Gift cards!

The prices in the Store were really ridiculous and even though we had these points provided e coupons I felt entirely ripped off!

Thrifty Foods Equals Bull **** when it comes to price!
  • I live in a rural area with two gas stations convenient when I am going back and forth to work. Most of the time the pump price is about the same but I can only use the GetUpside app at one of the stations. I probably average 16-18 cents back on every gallon as the amount back changes fairly often. I've gotten around $90 back since I started in the spring. Probably isn't for everyone but works for me.

You can always get one of those key fobs for at the En Vogue Grocery store. That way you can pay $50 more for the exact same groceries than at the other store (the one without the gas pumps, fobs, and Cafe), then rejoice when you get $10 of the $50 back in the form of some halfarsed discount when you scan the fob at the pump.

If interested I can have my wife contact you and show you the ropes. She is a pro at it.

That's funny and I know what you mean. We have a local grocery store chain that does that where they are higher on grocery's but lure you in on the gas rewards. My in laws are all over it.

  • Kind of like going to Kohl's. The receipt says something like "today you saved $xxx" No I didn't I just didn't spend as much as you think.

I don't know where Bret shops but I have a BI-Lo card and a Kroger Card

Now i've not done price compairson between Kroger and Wal-Mart but Wal-Mart die if for me with Bi-Lo

THe Bi-Lo reciept shows how much I saved off the shelf price
I shop wed's so In addition to sale and coupons (electronic) I get 5% senior discount.

Wal*mart proudly said I could save 14% over Bi-Lo one week had I sopped Wal*Mart
I saved 19% off shelf price (you know that's what Wal*mart is compairing to) that week.
    Next week Wal*mart saved 19% I saved 24.

THis continued for like 2 months. I always did 5% more savings PLUS Fuel points. I don't shop Wal*mart any more

Kroger.. I get the feeling I'd pay more at Wal*mart as well and again FUEL POINTS I can get up to 35 gallons (1/2 RV tank) discounted.. And I Do

I also get 15 cents off at Shell and some other disounts (I use those for the car).

  • Looked into it, its a waste of time for me. The "discounted" price that you get from some gas stations is about the same price you can find with the Gas Buddy app... but you save that money immediately, you don't have to wait for a rebate at the end of the day, week or month.
