Anyone used a Solaris 1350 watt cloths dryer ?

Might work IF we can wring or spin dry clothes first. Info says it needs to be wall mounted in studs or with good wallboard toggle bolts.

Won't mount this way in our RV. Can this hang from the shower head? Probably 30+ lbs when full.

We do not have a washer/dryer now and was considering the $70.00 Mr. Heater BaseCamp F235883 washer along with a $145.00 electric spin dryer from Laundry Alternatives.

Any thoughts?

  • Hi Karen: We had looked at the Wonderwash and DW said "I'm not cranking that thing with my bad shoulder".......

We thought the Nina was a good thing....but decided on the Panda as the 2 in 1 solution. Amazon says it will be here in a couple of weeks. We bought the two-year service contract...just in case.

    Thanks for posting.
  • You came to the right place to ask, since I've been researching/thinking about this for months. Here is my laundry solution:

    Wonderwash
    Nina spin dryer

Here were my reasons for choosing this combo:

    (1) We are going to want to boondock a lot. A low- or no-electricity solution was important to me.
    (2) We don't have enough space for this.

If the two concerns above don't apply to you, I'd choose the Panda.

    Additionally:
    (3) The Wonderwash is gentler on clothes, takes only 5 minutes (not including drying) per load, I'll never have to worry about electronics breaking down or leaking, I can even wash clothes on my picnic table (if there is one), and...it's kinda fun to do :).

    (4) I just bought the spin dryer so have not used it yet, but I HAVE used one at my gym, where they have them installed for bathing suits, and those come out practically dry. My plan is to spin dry and hang for about an hour (with a fan if it seems necessary), then put away.

    (5) These little machines mean you'll be washing pretty much every day (unless you're single), but in an RV you have to wash dishes every day, too, so this seems no different to me, plus it's way more fun that washing dishes.
