I now have a 22,000lb Reese 5th wheel home and the correct mounting kit is on the way. Hopefully be able to install everything over the weekend. If need be, I have a welder that can modify the brackets to fit around the plate (I think it will fit without modifying). So I won't be using a gooseneck. Thanks everyone for the responses, and wish me luck doing my first ever pull...
Believe me... Having been in the steel business, and the crane business most of my life, when I saw that I my eye's popped almost out of my head... I know all about it.. Looks like they did it right, no cracks anywhere (and I crawled all over it, and used a mirror to see where I couldn't see). Lets also keep in mind it has been pulling a gooseneck with a farm tractor & aeration attachment from golf course to golf course for 180,000 miles. Not worrying.

I'd be more concerned about that truck. I'm not saying you can't weld to a truck frame, but it is very bad if done incorrectly. I'd keep a very close eye on it.
