Are reservations necessary

I'm planning a trip to Florida in February and need some advice. My previous trips have been short term with a specific destination, however on this trip I would like to wander and go where the wind takes me. Can I expect to find sites without making reservations, or am I living in a dream world. I appreciate any guidance I can get.

    Don't have direct experience, but do know the more popular parks & areas, it is real hard to get reservations in the winter, without planning well ahead & reserving.

    I get the feeling Florida is #1 state for WINTER RV'ing.

    Last weekend, driving back from North Florida (Gainesville area), as heading out of state, driving north on I-75, I play a game, counting RV's heading South into Florida. Within 30 minutes, I was up in the 100 & climbing.
