Forum Discussion
- Fire_InstructorExplorerGo back in history.... (No, not too far... LOL)
Forums, in many cases replaced "list servers", where emails were shared with larger groups. Now, it seems that social media, like FaceBook is replacing forums. More "mobile" friendly, easier to post photos, less "policed"...
And (if you are anything like me) how many times have you read a post on the forums, and immediately tried to click the non-existent "LIKE" button??? - WandaLust2Explorer

Have possibly Facebook groups taken the place?
Yes! I believe they have. Have you seen how many RV Groups there are there? It's almost mind boggling. And pics are easily uploaded. - WandaLust2Explorer

A lot of people don't like being made fun of when they ask a question that others know the answer to and post a sarcastic remark about the question.....
EXACTLY! I don't post here as much as I did in the past because of this very reason.
Also, I think Facebook is getting a lot of people from these and other Forums. You can easily upload images and most people seem to love that. And just about everyone online belongs to FB. - WandaLust2Explorer

Too much censorship here as far as i am concerned.
iRV2 is the worst for censorship. - OutdoorPhotograExplorerAnother great answer offered on forums is "let me google that for you." The funny thing is when I google how to fix x,y, z on an RV, washing machine, etc. inevitably the top links are to forums!
My favorite threads here are roads and routes because it's an endless discovery of new places while allowing those posting to relive good memories. Sure some will argue never drive an interstate, etc. but they sure are a lot more fun threads than those on duallies and Walmart.
I'm back to software but the ability to interact with posts would be helpful. Another non-RV forum allows not only like but also helpful. Yik-Yak is a generally useless app that college students use but if a post has a net vote of minus four it disappears. That's probably a little low but could get some of the snarky out.
But maybe I'll still defend CA! :). I'll just do it in roads and routes. - fj12ryderExplorer IIII guess I'm the only one who hasn't noticed much, if any, change in the forum. Of course I don't frequent all the forums, so it's possible that Q&A on some of them have abated a bit over the years. About the only one where I really notice the reduced traffic is "Around the Campfire" and that's simply because of the excessive moderation there.

Yeah, that's about as racist a remark as I've heard in a long time. They know nothing about the people on this forum, but assume because there is complaining, snarkiness, and helpfulness at times, that everyone is white. Apparently white people are the only ones capable of these things. Geeze, what an attitude.
And yes, it is weird and creepy how white this place us. Not like real life.
It's remarks like this that makes me not want to come back, a racist remark! - cmcdarExplorer

It's Google Trends. https://www.google.com/trends/
Did you make the chart? There's no X scale. Looks bogus.
I selected for the U.S. only. Google is purposely vague about their results.
Google trends does NOT reflect actual traffic to websites. It reflects search engine searches!!!!
Google Trends is a public web facility of Google Inc., based on Google Search, that shows how often a particular search-term is entered relative to the total search-volume across various regions of the world, and in various languages. - jarata1ExplorerThere are a few people on this board that seem to only make wise cracks, wish they would just keep comments to themselves I think they know who they are
- Dog_TrainerExplorerAnymore when you ask a question there are too many replies that are not relevant. It becomes confusing and hard to sort the fact from the fiction or just plane mean and arrogant replies. The net has become a place where the little Big man complex can thrive. I have noticed many of the knowledgeable posters have quit posting and providing answers I think that is because they are attacked and argued with by people that do not have the answer but certainly have an opinion. Also it becomes tiresome to read over and over the posts asking for help with virtually no information provided about the question that would help define the question now comes 3 pages of irrelevant answers. This site has become less friendly and helpful over the last several years and I see many mean spirited replies and comments today. JMHO
