I've been on the forums for about 8 years, first as an eager newbie and eventually rising to my current august title of Senior Member. I've always found the forums to be extremely helpful and have rarely encountered the kind of behavior you describe.
I view and participate in the class B forum because we have a class B van. I go to the beginning RV'ing forum perhaps to be helpful but mostly find that a dozen people have already given the advice that I planned to. I look at the general RV'ing forum for information and also visit the ATC forum for no good reason whatsoever. However, I rarely or never visit the Tech or towing forums and do not know how how the people that reside there behave.
