Another vote to not do it.
Although it might make a good war story and bonding experience for your children the rest of their lives. My elderly siblings and I like to tell "can you believe they did that?" stories about our late parents' 1950s summer trips cross country without air conditioning when we all fought constantly and could never stop at roadside attractions because we had to "make time" and meet my father's schedule.
Except your trip would be more exhausting because you'd be driving a heavy truck while coping with systems like sewage dumping with which you have no experience!
