I absolutely love RVing. I'd rather be driving our motorhome than just about any other activity I'm capable of. To me, arriving at the destination is anticlimactic, the thrill is in the journey. With that said, I would not recommend what you are contemplating.
The kids will be fine for the first day or two or until the excitement wears off. After that, it will become an ordeal and they, and eventually you, will begin to wish the trip was over.
It is vitally important that your first venture into this lifestyle is a positive one if you have dreams of continuing with it. Memories are made, but memories can be both good and bad. Set yourself up for success!
