I have some questions for you:
Do you plan to help drive?
Are you comfortable with getting muddy/dirty, and perhaps missing a shower on occasion? Or using a musty towel? Or wearing the same clothes for a few days?
Can your kids self-occupy themselves for long periods of time?
Can you ignore massive clutter?? (4 people in an RV is going to be messy)
If you can answer yes to those - you'll do fine on your "Drive-by Of The Southern US States". I'm not poking fun at you - I did a drive-by to Alaska and back (no kids along, though) - ours was 9,065 miles in 26 days. But your trip is long and if you can't help out by driving, your husband is going to tire. Some of your campsites will be dirt (or muddy). Some might be noisy (many RV parks are close to highways). If the kids are having fun - they'll be disgustingly dirty and funky-smelling....LOL!

At least by the end of the 6-day trip, you'll know if you liked it - or not.
