Definitely rent and check out some of your Florida locations. It will be a good test for all of you. Don't give up on RVing before you even try it. Challenge yourself and perhaps you'll even get over the dirt, smell thing! :)
Also, if you have a child that gets motion sickness, riding in an RV and possibly having to sit sideways will be even worse. You can feel every little turn in an RV. Drugging her up with Dramerine is not the answer. She'd sleep during the whole trip and no one will enjoy it, especially her.
