Yelp is a good one.
Also works on Blackberry phones. - slarsenExplorerAround Me, Fast Food, Yelp: all good, useful apps. One works better than another in various locations.
And yes, iExit is great, but only on Interstates. That's about half my needs. - SHExplorer

I know nothing about these Apps,(carried a flip-phone until a few months ago) but all this talk got me curious! Downloaded iExit and sitting here in my living room it gives me all sorts of businesses from RV Service to restaurants. Pretty cool! Old dog learned new trick! Thanks all! - KA4EBUExplorerfor specific place I use Google maps to find. I use POYNT a lot for general use. I use gasbuddy for staions.
I use the radar search on delorme streetatlas a lot while traveling.
Just don't lean on any one app. - derh20ExplorerA good one to find restaurants is "urban spoon". It not only finds restaurants, but it also rates them.

Great find, thanks.
A note for iPad users, I found this under iPhone apps.
For some unknown reason iStore will only let you shop under iPad or iPhone but not both at once ??? - Retired_JSOExplorerWe used it when it first came out but it seems really outdated with business closings etc. We use the iExit, Truckers Tools for fuel, History Here, and Google for locating points of interest.
