I try very hard not to get involved in other's backings. If I know it's a tight site and they appear hesitant, I'll offer an extra pair of eyes to whoa'em if necessary. I don't give backing advice unless asked EVER. I recently was blocked by a couple in a pop-up in the middle of a downpour after dark. I was stopped until they got in anyhow, so I offered "an extra pair of eyes" and another flashlight. Visibility was terrible. With that much rain, you can't see your mirrors and putting your window down too far means you get a bath. They were very greatful and I played almost no role at all other than light. My wife is always telling me to go "help". I tell her, "I am helping. I'm staying outa their way. It's supposed to be a learning experience".
I've had the pushy person who know's instictively the moment we rock to a stop that we just need his help. Complete course in backing, etc. No thanks. Don't like getting it, won't be giving it.
