Since load capacity is normally a function of tire size (air volume) and its inflation. If however we also decrease the tread depth and the lower the maximum operating speed we can increase load capacity slightly.
Since some accommodation would probably have to be made to offset the increased tread depth on the LT, I s'pose it couldn't/shouldn't be allotted a capacity as high as the equivalent ST.
