I don't understand the thought process of many that post on RV.net and other similar forums.
They complain when tires fail but they refuse to accept the fact that overload, under-inflation and over-speed can lead to accelerated deterioration of any tire.
I don't care who makes it or what materials are used or what the zip code is for a tire plant...ANY TIRE WILL FAIL if abused or damaged.
You can claim you never drive faster than 64.9 mph or that you checked your tires last week or you are certain you haven't overloaded the RV when the tire fails but look at the number of posters on just this thread who boast about driving overloaded or well above the speed rating of the tires.
I trust that none of these folks have ever had a single tire fail.
I post on tire failure analysis on my blog and provide physical evidence to back up my position but people still want to argue that the primary reason is because the tire was not made in the USA.
I will challenge any of you that want to exceed the speed rating of your tire to go out, right now and put your car RV or tow vehicle in low gear and try running 100 miles with the engine above red-line. Then report back on what if anything you learned.
You could also drain 20% of the oil and 20% of the water out of the engine, transmission and radiator and tell us all how well your vehicle performs after 1,000 miles.
Anyone willing to take my challenge?
