When we had the 1995 Tioga Class C that was on a Ford E350 chassis, 460 V8, I had a local welder reinforce the hitch, and towed my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (mildly modified) back and forth over the Continental Divide several times, no problem.
My Jeep has custom bumpers, custom skid plates, 30 gallon gas tank, winch, oversize tires, etc. I have no idea what it weighs.
Now, I tow it behind the RV in my sig.
I also tow the PT Cruiser onvertible on a dolly. I don't know what it weighs, either.
