Also like I said originally I must have an automatic for the wife in case she has to drive. If she could handle a stick I wouldn't have asked advice in the first place. And since she likes SUVs, the CRV 4x4, auto, naturally is going to get serious attention. If no one has a particular similar vehicle to advise you may feel free to skip this thread.
This thread has gotten so long, I've forgotten why the simplest for towing, best and most terrain versatile SUV in the world and namely the Jeep Wrangler won't fit the bill here?
