Automatic trannys four down
We're thinking of getting a toad but DW insists on an automatic. I've got crossed eyes looking all over and can't find anything but sites that only lead to other sites with NO information. Does anyon...

Technically, ANY four wheel or all wheel drive has a transfer case. Generally speaking, any such vehicle with a NEUTRAL position in the transfer case can be towed four down.
HOWEVER, there are always exceptions! For example, almost any Subaru with manual transmission can be towed four down, even though it has no neutral in the transfer case (automatic transmission Subarus can NOT be towed four down). Certain models of early Jeep CJs can not be towed four down without modifying the transfer case, even though there is a neutral position.
All one can do is read the owner's manual and follow the instructions.
