Avoid Certain Areas

Yeah I guess removing the previous post makes sense. Allow me to re-state.

Has anybody found a smart phone app or even a web site that provides a Google Maps layer showing "higher violent crime-rate areas" to avoid while traveling? Perhaps based on local law enforcement or FBI databases?

    City-data website has everything you would want to know. Google the city you are wondering about and find the city-data site for that city and start scrolling through, it will give you all the info including weather, job info etc.
