From wha I've read, they're good for getting the torque close -with the proper impact wrench - but no substitute for a torque wrench for the final torquing. I'll stick to what I already have - a decent torque wrench.
Probably not as often as I should. Every 18-24 months. I don't use them really often, and they've never really been found to be out of calibration.
