Axle flipping thoughts...

To those who have "flipped" their axles to raise the trailer- any regrets?

Regrets that you did it...or regrets that you didn't do it sooner?

Just after some discussion and thanks.

  • I did it on 3 of my brothers tt. Only regret was that he kept upgrading.
  • No regrets at all on our previous tt (our new one came with flipped axles). It raised the tt even with the truck (had to re-adjust the hitch). Towed better, went off road better, and stopped bending and scraping the leveling jacks. We used 4X4s under the jacks (flip raised the tt 4").
  • Absolutely no regrets - leveled my trailer with the new truck. Only one very small issue - need another step if I have to raise the passenger side to get level. I modified a Harbor Freight step stool/working platform (shortened the legs) to use when needed.

  • Had flipped axles on 99 Kit Espre 29f fiver.
Grew to hate the height of the trailer.

It was like a parachute jump to exit using the built in stairs.
The rear stabilizers barely touched the ground fully extended.

The plus was having gobs of room underneath for maintenance items.
  • My camping buddy flipped his axles last year. His regret was not doing it sooner.

He dragged his tail on EVERYTHING before the flip. Now he can go anywhere the rest of us go without worry of damage.
