Axle nut retainers
I thought I would try the spring cage axle nut retatiners on this bearing/seal job. Never liked the bend over tab style, the tab always wants to get caught in the nut threads making the job difficult ...

If you are trying to use the retainer with the nut meant for a cotter pin, it won't fit. You can't just mix and match parts.
