X2 Also works better if you "Palm" the wheel while backing.
Probably the best advice I got here 10 years ago.
Hands at the bottom, move steering wheel to the right to make the rear end of the trailer go right, and vice versa for left. Very intuitive and how pro truck drivers are trained I've been told.
The only spotter I use is DW to make sure some idiot doesn't walk or drive behind a backing trailer!!!
I almost exclusively use the side view mirrors during backing, drove a lot of no side/back window vans during my life. The side makes little difference.
