I have a 5ver rv but tow other trailers, I started using the "scoup" method some years ago because when backing a heavily loaded dump trailer on pavement it is really hard on the tires and axles. By using the scoup the wheels and tires are in a neutral position while the trailer is already part way angled into the intended position. I don't know it was called "the scoup" though.
