Backing up with sway bar intact

I was told by the salesperson of my new TT NEVER to back up with the sway bar attached...others say that's not true. Even the documentation didn't say anything about it -- thoughts?

Thanks!
  • It should be common sense that if you are going to maneuver so the TT is kinked tight to the TV that the sway control should be removed. The sway control is for going down the Hwy and is not needed for slow speeds.
  • I remove when I pull into the park gate when I go into register. Takes 10 seconds and I'd rather be safe than sorry. Those things are also quite noisy when you're trying to place the TT at the site.
  • 30+ years with towing with a sway bar and never took it off when backing. I'm not going to start now.
