I am guessing you can back up with a TOAD attached, but every towbar manufacturer tells you not to do it, and doing so will void the warranty. I have not been in a spot where I had to, or had to disconnect, but I know eventually I will have to make the decision. I will probably opt to disconnect. At my age I have pushed my luck so many times, eventually it will push back, so why chance it.
