  • Having a sealed underbelly a winch type system would be a little more complex. I did put on a winch system on my last Rig but it was all open on the bottom and much easier to access frame rails and bracing. The front A frame is a option but it would add 50+ pounds right on the tongue though...

    I was curious if this BAL system is sturdy or does it bounce or flex with a 50lb tire on it....
  • Go to an auto salvage yard and look for a pick-up truck that has the spare mounted underneath the bed, some of these spare tire carriers raise and lower the spare tire using a cable system. A bit of fabrication and you have a simple solution for mounting the spare under the front A-frame portion of the trailer.

    It looks like you will lose a good amount of ground clearance at the rear where you would need it most for exiting roadways or drives.
