I had my skylight outer cover broken by hail last March. I ordered a replacement from Amazon, and replaced myself. Easy and cheap. Much cheaper than filing a claim with the insurance company, and paying the deductible.
I strongly recommend mobile service rather than shop service for anything short of a major issue - such as when our axles were replaced.
Aside for the inconvenience to us as full-timers - my experience is that (1) a mobile service guy gets paid when the job is finished - it is to his/her advantage to get the job done quickly and minimize downtime for the rig; (2) most RV parks can recommend a reliable mobile service person/ company - recommending a service person who leaves unhappy customers behind hurts an RV park's reputation.
