Battery Amp Hour
Does the amp hour rating double when two twelve volt batteries are used? I understand that they need to be both new so they don't go down to the lowest setting. thanks

This is another consideration for getting more battery capacity.
Most of us starts out with the general issue GP24 12VDC Interstate batteries from the dealer. These are 85AH batteries. To get more capacity one usually just gets a second 85AH battery which gives you 170 AH's. These two batteries connected in parallel will generally produce 12VDC at 25AMPS for 280 minutes (4.6HOURS)
By comparison two GP24 6VDC Trojan T105 GC2 Batteries connected in series will produce 12VDC at 25AMPS for 447 minutes (7.46 hours). This is double the capacity for the about the same cost. The T105 GOLF CART Batteries have very large cores insides to be able to do this... The COSTCO GP24 6VDC GC2 BATTERIES are very similar in performance to the TROJAN T105 batteries.
