  • Not so stupid. Tucson, along with many other areas in Arizona, does not have flood control drains, rather there are dips in the roadway to channel flood waters. Driving during and after a monsoon you might approach an intersection that is wet, but looks level, only to drive through to find the water is 4 feet deep. During my college days we earned considerable lunch money using a dorm-mates jeep to pull motorists out of intersections.
    When driving you should know the rules of the road, and it would be a good idea to know the road conditions.

  • So if one violates the law, ignores barricades, drives around them and gets stuck in flood waters, they get charged for emergency services?
    That sounds good to me.
