Whaaaaaaaa?
In Mexico they blame the shootings on drugs, make some effort to enforce drug laws. In the US, the shootings are blamed on mental issues. What do we do to solve the mental issues?
If somebody was questioned after shooting somebody said "I was told to when in the mosque" would questions be asked in the mosque?
If somebody was questioned after shooting somebody said "I was told to when in the synagogue " would questions be asked in the synagogue?

How many school shootings do they have in Mexico? The US has its issues too, including funding the cartels by buying their product.

Tell that to the family that was just murdered in Mexico. All but a couple kids.
Time to shut this one down!
Just because you disagree with other posters, you want the thread closed? Use the "Hide" button, it works very well. - Optimistic_ParaExplorerOver the years, I've seen a number of debates here over whether or not it is safe for gringo tourists in Mexico.
I just want to add that, whether or not it USED to be, things change.
I've seen some reports that the previous boss of the Mexican cartel, El Chapo, used to forbid the cartel members from messing with the tourists because:
A: There was little or no profit in doing so.
and
B: It would attract a lot of extra action by the American government.
Now that El Chapo is enjoying life in an American Supermax, various factions of the cartel are battling for supremacy, and the old rules are no longer being enforced by anyone. Plus, some members may be willing to kill Americans as payback for us locking El Chapo up, and to send a message to the American government that they aren't afraid of us.
I don't know whether these reports are accurate or not. But, as I said, just a reminder that things change. - dodge_guyExplorer II

Uh, how do you feel about Utah, since the couple in question are from Utah?
The only way I would tour Mexico is the same for the Darien Gap! Mother hovering overhead and a select group of friends armed to the teeth.
X2.
All the talk about Mexico and the reality is the people of the US are just as dangerous.

I do not believe that you are correct in your facts. Murder rate per 100k people: Canada 1.68, USA 5.35, Mexico 19.26.fj12ryder wrote:

- CroweExplorerThey have captured the "people of interest" in this case. They are a couple from Utah. So far they've only been charged with the theft of the vehicle and trailer.
