Be Carefully Buying A Rental

Boy! And we thought we were mistreating a rental car when we drove it to the top of Pikes Peak!

Glad the tide didn't come in... the rental place would have a heck of a time dealing with a flooded motorhome (salt water as well... say good bye to every electrical connection in the vehicle if it encountered that.)

That is funny. And ironically I think I saw another thread here talking about using a rental beyond what the contract said due to the "what they don't know" theory.

Was at a NP in line to dump. rental in front was filling water from the clean up hose. I cautioned them, his reply was "we don't drink the water".

I'm sure the GPS is a "locator" unit - in case you wanted to steal it. Nowadays, most vehicles that might ever need to be repossessed/found have them.

At least the guy in the pick-up seemed to know what he was doing, packing a trail and using a Snatch-um Strap.

The strap is great for "popping" a stuck vehicle out. With a steady pull the truck would just spin it's wheels in the sand. By using an elastic strap the truck can build up momentum, then the energy is transferred to the strap, and when it rebounds it gives the stuck vehicle a good yank.

What morons. Here in Florida it's rental cars that get driven through the surf at Daytona and a few other beaches. I have seen cars stuck in the surf with waves breaking over the fenders.

How did he make it that far? I mean... make it that far in life, not the sand dune?

I've seen them at NASCAR tracks with 10 people standing on the roof....
