Excellent point. I chamfer the edge of the grease hole with a fine stone and electrical tape around it is a good idea. Let a long tail of tape and pull it free after the seal lip has passed beyond the hole.
I'll try the chamfer next time I have things off. I would think this would need to be done will a small diameter stone?
Then when done remove the grease zerk and blow everything out?
I'm not picturing the tape. Would you run it along the backing plate and behind the brakes and then try to pull it up between the brake shoe and the backing plate?
