Oh yes. At another volunteering gig in another campground a girl left a candy bar in her backpack and tossed it inside her tent. Naturally, a bear tore into the tent (no one was in it) and subsequently the bear was killed in front of the Girl Scout troop because it then started getting into other tents... a lasting impression, for sure.
I'm sure it must have made a lasting impression on the girl scouts. Perhaps enough to save the lives of other bears in later years? We can only hope.
