Many years ago we were tenting near Jasper, Alberta. In the campground were numerous "Bears in the Area" warning signs. My wife was very concerned about sleeping in the tent. I assured her that as long as we had a plan we would be OK. We set up our tent right beside the truck. When we retired for the night my wife slept right beside the truck (she could feel the running board through the tent wall). The plan.......if the bear visited we would simply slice open the wall of the tent with our hunting knife and then roll under the truck.
