best credit card discounts

Am heading West for two months of vacation with my 2012 F350 towing my Ketstone Rapture toy hauler. With the high prices of fuel I was looking for some recomendations on credit cards that offer the best cash back or discounts at the pump. Thank you!

  • Use a commercial fueling network. The intrest rates on these so called cash backs are fluke. You will end up spending more if you dont pay off every month.
  • BOA Cash Rewards & Bonus

    1. First month traveling, $175 cash rewards went into VCD.
    2. Opened savings maintain minimum $300 to avoid fees.
    3. 10% bonus from cash rewards to BOA savings.
    4. $100 bonus for opening account.
    5. Payoff balance each month. No fees, no brainer.
    In Case YOU missed It!

  • Most Murphy USA stations give you 10 cents off gasoline using a Walmart gift card, and 15 cents off using a Walmart credit card. Don't know if they sell diesel, as we don't use it.

We have a Chase cash-back card that gives 5% on gas purchases during two of the four quarters of the year. but their exclusions list is such that most every gas station is listed as a "convenience store" and doesn't qualify.

We use Gas Buddy for pricing and Google Maps or Google Earth to see whether we can get in and out easily, and then whatever card has the most potential for cash back or discount. It all adds up.
