Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men

Today was going to be my final dump before putting my TT to bed for the winter. The other day I had poured some cleaners into the tanks along with a couple gallons of hot soapy water. Today I added some additional cleaner and more water then took the TT for a ride around town to slosh it about prior to driving to the 295 Welcome Center here in New Jersey.
As I was pulling up a maintenance worker was standing there pouring some kind of liquid into the dump station. He said to me "Sorry, no dumping here right now. Something clogged it up and someone left me a real mess to clean up."
I looked down and the dumping pit was completely filled with someone's black tank product. I asked him if he was going to have Roto-Rooter come out and he said he didn't know what was going to be done. He was hoping the stuff he poured into the pit would somehow break through and open up the drain. Lots of luck there.
I didn't waste much time getting away from there and made my way over to Flying J to finish my task with the ten dollar dump.

Some camp grounds have multiple dump stations (Some do not) and some if they have full hookup sites will let you "Rent" one for like 5 minutes in order to dump. (Actually did that once, only it was 30 minutes cause we showered too).
  • Several years ago I saw a guy with a Travel Trailer pulled off on the shoulder and he was trying to merge back into traffic. I let him in. I'm sorry I did because he had pulled off, opened the dump valve on his black water tank and drove down the road spraying sewage as he went.

You missed a golden opportunity to suggest he add lots of ice cubes to the dump station!!
