Best Satellite for class "A"

I have just purchased a 2005 Newman Kountry Star 37' that has no TV antenna. I am considering getting the Winegard Road Trip Minimax RV satellite RT8000T but would like comments on if this is the way to go or is a stationary dish better since I am traveling alone and will not be watching TV while driving. Is this unit an easy DYI install for the moderately mechanically minded guy. Are there other options I should be considering.

Also am thinking of replacing the older TV's with new flat screen HD TV's. Will there be any other issues that need to be addressed to get HD in my coach

    If you are alone and not watching tv while driving, why would you need an in motion satellite?

    Directv has a few more HD channels, but are they the ones you watch? Dish has around 175, Directv 195.
    Dish has many more antennas that can work with HD.
    Dish has two sets of satellites.

    The minimax doesn't have HD for Directv, only Dish.
    You can order the minimax either stationary or in-motion. There is about a $100 difference. You can also order it stationary, then upgrade it to in motion.

    Yes but Directv has more HD channels. I must be spoiled because if it's not in HD I won't watch it, especially on the new flat screens.

    Golf Guy - if you are talking about the Trave'ler - they are stationary, permanently installed to the top of your RV. You push a button, it folds up, it looks and locks onto three satellites. With two receivers you can watch two different channels, but you probably don't need that traveling alone. We also have a DVR to record movies - it's a hard drive that connects to the receiver and has to be registered with dish.

    Chris I was looking at these online and I can not tell if they are in motion or stationary. In motion would be nice but not critical. Does anyone know?

    I still use the old heavy Slimline on a tripod. Cheap, learning curve, heavy.

    Yes. I was talked out of the 'dome' satellite for the Dish Traveler linked above. It doesn't work in motion. But I was told the domes are glitchy while in motion and the signal quality is not as good.

    Well, we don't have a Class A but we do have a fifth wheel and we had the Trav'ler installed with Dish. Love it. Easy up and down. And if we park just right, we can get reception through the trees!
