Jeep Wranglers are good. I really like the Hummer H3s. They dont sell them anymore. I had a 2007 model... and when GM discontinued the line in 2010 I sold my 2007 and bought one of the last H3s they made. I only did it for one reason -- we liked the vehicle and wanted a fresher model for fear they would never make anything like it again. And our fear has proven to be correct so we made a good decision.
I only use it for the motorhome. After 6 years it has just 15,000 miles on it .. all miles driving around the areas we visit when we park the MH.
What is important to me is that the vehicle must be easy to hook/unhook (hold two buttons for 10 seconds and transfer case is in neural -- hit one button and it is back into gear). Also, we take the motorhome everywhere. I shudder when I see regular sedans being towed. How do they get onto the dirt roads to the incredible spots that RVing is all about? Also, it is extremely safe with the heavy weight and durability.
If you dont need something new, consider finding a low mile specimen. Eventually in 3-5 years I am going to have to (sadly) sell this vehicle (We have had zero issues, but once a car gets 10 years old things start to happen when parts get old). I havent seen anything new out there that is better than this and we are very happy with ours. I'd like to know if there is anything better out there.. just am not seeing it when we do our research.
