With your truck you do not need a WD hitch and this is stated specifically by GM in the owners manual. No reason to have the sway control for your small trailer either. Check the factory hitch as it should be a Class V rated for 1500 lbs. tongue weight and towing up to 13,000 lbs. as this is what came with my 2011 2500HD truck with its tow package.
You will probably need a drop hitch to lower the height of the ball. Reese makes some inexpensive ones that are adjustable so you can get the exact height you want.
