They are actually ravens, out west anyway. Others species will do the same though. They will peck holes in your hose looking for water and left overs from your grey tank. We saw them "feasting" at the Grand Canyon. We have a macerator so my hose is encased in a 1 1/4 PVC hose split down the middle. Placing your sewer hose on gravel will also shorten it's life.......Dennis
