Black tank- dump it or leave it?

Our TT usually stays on a permanent site, which we visit every other weekend or every 3rd weekend.

When we depart on Sundays, I usually fill the black tank up with water, since it's nowhere near being full, or 3/4 full, for that matter, then dump all my tanks.

Instead of doing this, what if I just left my black tank alone, and just dumped it as it got full? Are there any problems with leaving my black water in the tank for extended periods of time? Odors should stay contained to the tank, right?

    Has nothing to do with effort, Mike. As mentioned in the comment before yours, I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing to avoid a poop pyramid.

    No problem so long as there's enough water in the black tank to keep everything fluid.

    Odors from grey & black tanks, if any, will escape thru the roof vents.

    i would continue to do what you're doing. Why change? It's not that much effort to fill it up and empty is it?

    You would probably build a poop pyramid that will not drain without some travel time. JMO
