Black tank check value is leaking

I've only had the TT a few months and noticed the check valve on my black tank wash leaks. I am thinking about by passing this with a 90° elbow.or some type of fitting. Anyone done this? Or anyone have suggestions.

  • Mine will leak a bit when the black tank is full. I just figured it was normal.

no more chance of leak. Much higher quality valve.

    Fixed.

Did you combine those two together and install in place of the orginal?

  • Duuuh, I know this old pfart that used to not winterize the black tank flush system.

I now the cost will surprise you and the thing was under the bathroom sink on my fifth wheel.

Putting the new on in was not that bad, even for a fast man that is older than dirt. :W
  • Mine does the same, when I turn the water pressure up it shoots a stream of water out from the valve. The last time I did this I held the valve with a towel to catch the water. I feel I shouldn't have to do that. Plus if I'm holding the leak I cannot see what's going on outside where the water is exiting the outlet.
I was told a replacement is around $55.
I may just buy a wand and be done with the rest.
  • They are made to leak and manufacturers place them where the leak will cause damage. Get rid of it. Leaker
  • Ours drips slightly if the water pressure is really high. I just put a rag or towel under it to catch what drips. It is located inside our bathroom sink cabinet. Easy to get to.
  • A lot of us have eliminated the black tank flush anti-siphon valve. But most of us also use an external check valve just in case of the slim possibility of a back flow.
